Project Details

Jeremy Sutton approached Dragil with a vision for a virtual art school. Jeremy’s request was to develop the most innovative e-learning website that specialized in Corel Painter 11. Although the timeframe was short, the Dragil team was determined to bring the site live within the specified time constraints. Our first goal was to build a prototype/wireframes that would enable Jeremy to visualize the website’s functionality early on while sharing his vision with our team. Once we were set with the applicable wireframe, we began building the website using PHP framework Zend, which further allowed us to reduce production time.

This was an exciting project for us as it allowed us to partner with a truly gifted artist in his efforts to create a special website for his custom Corel Painter brushes. The result was a robust website that allows his students to watch online videos and learn how to use Corel Painter 11, as well as actually hear the tutorials, read the articles and gather tips about creating their own works of art using Corel Painter.

The access to download these special Corel Painter brushes that were created by Jeremy is worth the investment of a student membership. Playing such an intricate role in designing a website that allows students to be a part of a class taught by a master painter who is now able to reach to students across the globe is an honor and this project in particular has been a pleasure for our firm.

Current enhancements to www.paintboxj.com will include, among other things, a Magento shopping cart driven e-commerce solution, as well as additional membership options. Its release is anticipated within the next few months.

Paintboxj.com went live February 24, 2009, the same day Corel Painter 11 was released.
